Fennica Gaming erweitert Angebot bei Svenska Spel Sport & Casino in Schweden

Fennica Gaming has successfully launched its online casino games with Svenska Spel Sport & Casino. This completes their full suite of three gaming verticals in Sweden.

Fennica Gaming, a provider of gaming solutions, has launched its online casino games with Svenska Spel Sport & Casino in Sweden. The integration was swift and marks an important milestone for Fennica Gaming in the Swedish gambling landscape. This expansion completes Fennica Gaming's portfolio with Svenska Spel.

Now, eInstants, EGM games, and online casino games from Fennica Gaming are available to players at the Swedish operator. The rapid implementation of the online casino games is considered a success by both parties. It underscores the close collaboration between the teams involved.

Numbers and facts

The latest addition to Svenska Spel Sport & Casino's gaming portfolio, the online casino games, was delivered with impressive efficiency. Kirsi Lagus, SVP, Portfolio and Product Development at Fennica Gaming, highlighted the swift collaboration.

“Our teams at Fennica and Veikkaus tech as well as the team with the customer at Svenska Spel Sport & Casino were motivated to go live in a rapid schedule. By leveraging advanced tools, streamlined processes and latest technology, our three vertical capability is now in full action with Svenska Spel. I am extremely pleased with the swift collaboration demonstrated by all involved.” - Kirsi Lagus, SVP, Portfolio and Product Development at Fennica Gaming

Fennica Gaming, a subsidiary of the Finnish national lottery Veikkaus, operates a “Gaming Universe.” This includes various brands and game types. Before international expansion, the games were already available to Finnish players at Veikkaus. This allowed for the gathering of player insights and ensuring high quality standards.

Background

Svenska Spel divides its gaming offerings into three business areas: Tur, Sport & Casino, and Vegas. Tur offers games such as Lotto, Triss, and Eurojackpot. Sport & Casino includes Oddset, Stryktipset, Europatipset, and online casino. Vegas offers slot machines at selected locations. Fennica Gaming emphasizes that its success is based on a strong player focus. The company strives to understand and meet the specific needs of players.

Fennica Gaming's online casino offering is currently growing rapidly. The portfolio is being adapted to international standards and regulatory requirements. Simultaneously, the Fennica Game Studio is rapidly developing new games. Although Fennica Gaming collaborates with aggregators, the company prefers direct engagement with operators. They aim to better fulfill player needs directly.

Fennica Gaming has recently expanded its presence across Europe. In May of this year, cooperation with Lotto Baden-Württemberg was announced. A similar launch with Sachsenlotto followed in January. Deals with Gaming1 for circus.nl in the Netherlands and Sisal in Italy then followed in July.

Why it matters for German players

German players need to pay close attention here. The introduction of new games in Sweden and Fennica Gaming's European expansion are interesting news for the industry. However, for players in Germany, the strict rules of the Interstate Treaty on Gambling 2021 (GlüStV 2021) apply. This treaty regulates online gambling in Germany.

Only casinos holding a German license from the Joint Gambling Authority of the Federal States (GGL) are legal. While Fennica Gaming has introduced eInstants at Lotto Baden-Württemberg and Sachsenlotto, which are state lottery companies, Fennica Gaming's online casino games are not automatically licensed for the German market. The GlüStV 2021 sets strict player protection measures. These include a stake limit of 1 euro per spin for online slots and a monthly deposit limit of 1,000 euros. Every player must be registered via the central monitoring system LUGAS. This ensures compliance with the deposit limit across all providers.

Before a Fennica Gaming game could be offered in a German online casino, it would have to meet the GGL's stringent licensing requirements. This includes technical reviews and compliance with all player protection measures. A game licensed in Sweden is not automatically permitted in Germany.

What it means for GGL-licensed casinos

For GGL-licensed casinos, the expansion of Fennica Gaming's portfolio could be an option in the long term. If Fennica Gaming adapts its online casino games for the German market and obtains GGL certification, these titles could also appear on the whitelist. At the moment, it is unclear whether Fennica Gaming plans to adapt its online casino titles for the German market.

Providers in Germany are already facing a large offer. However, quality games and innovative content are always welcome. The player protection requirements of the GGL are the decisive factor. They must be met before any publication in Germany.
